Voice

Respectful, Progressive, and Creative. Derby: My Country, Your Country presents a feeling of interconnectivity with inherited narratives intertwined in a contemporary style that reflects the country. The tone of voice is serious but respectful and caring translated through the people of Derby who hold strong community bonds. Throughout this style guide, professional and assertive language will be used to demonstrate the design endeavours and the brand, Derby: My Country, Your Country.

The Warra community of Derby and the surrounding have taught me about understanding the country, through their creativity, festivals, and stunning landscapes, from which I took great inspiration when designing. The landscape and the sites in it were incredibly eye-opening to research. Researching the boab tree and Fitzroy’s cultural significance has allowed me to understand country and gain a deeper knowledge of the inherent spiritual connection with the land and that country is a living breathing entity and should be treated as such.
